Today’s the Day (Demo)

Writing songs is mysterious, right? Sometimes they'll show up quick then take forever. Other times they spill out before you know what to do with 'em, like this one. I wrote it last year after reminiscing about the "Every Year" video we made for UK indie label Wiaiwya Records a million years ago with my old pals photographer/filmmaker John Soares & Joe Doherty (Santa). Turned out pretty good, I'd say. I've been storing the demo in the attic with the decorations, waiting for everything to be just right before doing something with it for real. But things are never perfect, are they? And what good's a Christmas song under wraps, when it could be under the tree? So, Today's the day.
